Hi vibe juice9/23/2023 It also allows you to incorporate fruits and veggies you otherwise wouldn't eat at all. Drinking a freshly prepared juice gives us exposure to certain elements of the fruit or vegetable we might not otherwise get unless we eat it raw - and raw kale isn't exactly the yummiest. Certain properties are enhanced when a plant is consumed raw vs. The bioavailability of the vitamins and minerals in a plant changes depending on how it is prepared. Juicing allows you to consume a wide variety fruits and veggies in their raw form. But if you struggle to get in a large amount and wide variety of fruits and veggies, juicing is a great option for you to consider. If you are getting the daily recommended intake of servings ( hint: most of us aren't) then juicing may not even interest you. I am not saying that juicing is necessarily healthier than eating whole fruits and vegetables. I only do juice cleanses when I am sick or feel the need to detoxify my body after potential exposure to chemicals or pro-inflammatory foods. I personally juice for its healing properties and I incorporate juices into my every day life. But extracting the juice from fruits and vegetables has been a dietary practice for a few hundred years now and boasts so many benefits other than weight loss. Juicing has unfortunately gotten kind of a bad reputation for being a trendy way to lose weight. I realized that my Dad's "carrot juice" I loved when I was young most likely had apple and ginger in it to make it more palatable. I decided to juice a ton of carrots and she warned me it wouldn't taste good - but I insisted that's how I had seen my Dad make it and it tasted amazing. I obviously didn't really pay attention to how he made his - because mine tasted nothing like it! :DĪ few years later I discovered that you can combine a variety of fruits and vegetables in order to make different flavors. I was delighted to discover we actually had a juicer at my Mom's house, even though no one had ever used it. When I went back home in the Fall, I decided to recreate these juices myself. I remember visiting my Dad one Summer when I was about 10 years old and watching him make fresh lemonade ( with actual lemons) and delicious tasting carrot juice. I hate quitting, but I since I felt so awful, I gave in, got over the defeat and ate! I still love juices and drink breakfast or snack, but I’ll never juice cleanse again.I have been experiencing the health benefits of juicing since I was a kid. I kept telling myself mind over matter, mind over matter, but by late afternoon of day 2, I told myself to stop punishing myself. Hunger aside, I was achy, cramp-y and had flu-like symptoms, not to mention super bloated – something I never have. Day 2 rolled around and I was like, I got this…. All were tasty (the greener the better in my book) and the “mylk” was delicious or perhaps that was the hanger clouding my head. When Miami’s first juice spot opened and I learned they did cleanses, I signed up, picked up the massive box of juices to last me 3-days and cleared out my fridge to make room. Day 1, no prob. I kept myself busy-physically+mentally in any way I could but was running on fumes.’– Box+Flow Instructor Caitlin Delaney, New York City Diamond Public Relations Owner Robin Diamond, Miami, post shared by Robin Diamond Public Relations always open to trying the latest health trend to accompany my already healthy, clean and active lifestyle, I decided to give a juice cleanse a try. I saw the finish line and it made my first bite of avocado toast that much sweeter!”[clickToTweet tweet=”my survival tactic was pure distraction - #juicecleanse” quote=”‘Day 2 was a little easier- my survival tactic was pure distraction. The final day couldn’t have come soon enough. I kept myself busy-physically+mentally in any way I could but was running on fumes. Day 2 was a little easier- my survival tactic was pure distraction. I gave myself a timeout and put myself to bed at 9 pm sharp. I was a total introvert and had a raging headache for hours (not sure if my nagging helped…). By midday, I had to avoid any human contact. The first day was definitely the hardest. In my mind, the one-day cleanse didn’t seem effective enough and the 5-days cleanse was a little too ambitious.
